![]() ![]() We learn of Calth and its immense potential as a world to be among the greatest of Ultramar’s five hundred. The Ultramarines begin with cautious hope, that any enmity between them and the Word Bearers is written over by new bonds of brotherhood, forged in the heat of battle against the Orks. The nineteenth in the ongoing Horus Heresy series by Black Library, Know No Fear is the story of the betrayal at the world of Calth, where the forces of the Word Bearers catch the Ultramarines unaware, causing horrendous casualties and damage and rendering the world’s surface completely uninhabitable.Īs already detailed in my review of David Annandale’s Roboute Guilliman – Lord of Ultramar, Abnett does a remarkable job of giving the Ultramarines and their Primarch their own unique character, through their use of theoreticals and practicals – thoughts and analysis based on information followed by action informed by said data.Īt times this novel is painful to read, in a gut-wrenching way.
